Theresa Marie was born on Vancouver Island in 1969. She attended the Fine Arts program at Malaspina University (VIU), with a two year independent study of sculpture and ceramics. By the age of twenty four, Theresa gained recognition throughout Canada, her work was featured in the gift gallery at the National Art Gallery of Canada. Theresa has been living in the Bella Coola Valley since 1993, living in and building “Ravin Havin Mountain Retreat”. It’s a place to create with art studios, steep mountain trails and great views. It’s where Theresa created her connection to all the wildlife in peaceful coexistence. In this environment, Theresa has developed a passion for protection of her wild friends, working closely with the grizzly and black bears of the Great Bear rainforest. All creatures large and small play a role in the intricate balance of nature. We must tread softly for the future balance of all on this beautiful planet.
